So I've like such a hard time standing up for myself and like, you know, like talking to somebody about like somebody who steps over my boundaries and my kids boundaries that I set. And like this whole cigarette situation is just so irritating. Like me and my mother-in-law, like we have a good relationship, but it's just like that one thing and like I get it. Like you smoke, like you know, my partner smokes, but it's like I don't smoke. My kid doesn't smoke. My kid doesn't need to smell like smoke and like being a house that like where people smoke. I I don't get it and I'm just having such a hard time like Debating if I should confront her about it just because like I said like we have a good relationship So I don't want like it being awkward from now on I just need some help like what would you guys do?

You just have to speak your truth and get it off your chest however it comes off is how it comes off and just say it

I have a very very hard time setting boundaries for stuff like this as well. And I always tell myself next time I'm just gonna do this and I end up not and I just regret it because why is it so hard for me to stand up for myself and my child that does have a voice.

I mean that's a hard one in general just because like yeah it does affect the baby the kiddos health even if they're in a separate room like you said it travels so I mean it's just like one of those pick your battle type situations because...

How do you bring it up really calmly and be like hey I know that you're smoking all but I would prefer it in my daughters here if you're outside I've had to do this with my parents and they know that if they have smoked in the house I will not fucking come over

Well, I'm the same way because I'm not a confrontative person either. But, if it's crossing your boundaries, you have to say something.

Just speak have a backbone nothing you don't have a backbone but you gotta stand up in for what you believe in whether people want to hear it or not
