For my people that are in relationships or that are dating, how do you guys cope with mental illness? So whether you have anxiety, depression, you know schizophrenia, body dysmorphia, whatever the case is, how do you and your partner, you know, get through that? I have really bad anxiety and I get very irritable when things are not in my control. And I try to tell my husband that and he's very very understanding. But yeah, how do you guys cope with it?
We eat every day That is how I cope with my mental health, I don't know about everybody else but for me it works and it keeps the world a little safer because you know it keeps me calm so yeah
Girl, I love that, yes. Like literally, yes. I'm actually having a mental health day tomorrow, my little massage but yes it's absolutely needed um for sure i'm taking this advice
So this is something that I've actually not gone through recently and I found that you know I really should start taking more time for myself into doing things that I like to do and then I Donely that just being more open and vulnerable in conversation with my partner
I think that's just part of it's not even an illness right it's an imbalance It's things that need to get that that they're calling out to be healed emotional pain that kind of stuff I'm a certified coach in this kind of stuff And I think it's just part, you know, you love someone and that's part of loving them.
And this is where communication is really important and knowing what your needs are and knowing how to fulfill your own needs and then where your partner adds to that and how they can support you and vice versa I have autism and ADHD as well so yeah this is
This is something that we, you know, we have lots of conversations about. So, you know, everybody has baggage that we deal with and that's just part of our relationship, right? right, is learning how to communicate through it.
Yeah, I definitely agree. I definitely agree. Communication is very key, especially in, like you said, the mental imbalance, you know, trying to basically get things back on track or balanced.
I know for a fact that I'm tired of it, but I mean at this point we're just taking it one day at a time I'm trying to get all the help that I can get. And that's it.
Honestly, and it's tough. It's tough on both parties. I get that. Have you guys tried therapy or anything like that? that to maybe try to help the situation.
Yeah, we've been doing individual therapy and it's helping me learn how to cope with a lot of different emotional reactions she might have or a lot of different emotional reactions I might have, you know.
So I have anxiety and depression and my partner was an accident so he has depression and we both have different times where we're suffering and so we both can relate to each other so we help each other out
