ever pondered how the world transitioned from mere subsistence to the prosperity we see today. The phenomenon of sustained economic growth, which began around the mid-18th century in England, transformed human existence. Before this, most societies experienced only sporadic growth, often offset by population increases. The Industrial Revolution in Britain marked a turning point, with technological innovation at its heart. But why did it take so long after the advent of agriculture? Nearly 10,000 years prior for this to occur? Historians and economists have long debated the factors, from colonization to institutional changes. A recent book, How the World Became Rich, by Jared Rubin and Mark Koyama, delves deep into this puzzle, exploring the myriad reasons and the interplay of culture, institutions, and historical events. One key takeaway, the world's richness is a result of a rapid increase in technological innovation, driven by the right incentives and conditions. And as long as those remain, the future holds promise. Stay sharp with TL.

It's a debated topic because most of them won't admit how societies have become rich. If you think about the drugs in societies and how much it's corrupt, and how much money is to be made in drugs, then you see how a society can be manipulated into giving their civilians drugs for money, and fucking up their society for money, so it's not really that debatable to be fair.

And if you look at Scottish and English history, it's the best depiction of cause and effects there is in this whole entire world. I mean, England was a colonising country. They tried to take over everyone. And they even tried to take over Scotland. But they got annihilated by Scotland. We annihilated them three to one. And then we sent them back to England and we united the kingdoms. But then England made Parliament...

And with Parliament they took over Scotland because they end up buying the Scottish MPs and taking over Parliament which took over the UK. They couldn't take over by violence because of the cause of effects and when they invaded Scotland they actually took over Scotland by coming in with a force and governing us and placing their rules which we followed up until one rule.

And that rule was that any Scottishman that was to marry, his wife was to lay with an Englishman first. So that turned the tables, I mean, Scotland was like, nope, nope, that's enough, that's enough. Came in, placing your rules and that, we took them for a while, but nah, nah, fuck off. So we annihilated them for that reason, basically, alone, and many more. But then we joined forces and ended up taking over the entire world.

And that is why, at the end of every world war, the boss battle, as it will, is England, is London. That's why London's the last place to get bombed, because the crown owns all. I mean, if you look at the United States, it's not even a country. It's a corporation that's owned by the crown. So if you really dive into it, you find out what has really happened. It's not debatable.
