I personally prefer you to tell me the truth, because it hurts even more knowing that you lied. I had to be a big girl and put on my big girl panties and know that things hurt in this world. Everyone's not gonna agree with everything they got going on in your life, and sometimes being told the truth does hurt. I'd rather be hurt that way than being hurt by you lying to me. Keep you away from you being your true self and also if you tell the truth try to be honest but not brutally honest like the young lady said I mean you can you can find a way to be honest without hurting peoples feelings but ultimately you give them the opportunity to respond and react accordingly
