OK guys so we just left my sons name on check up and I'm a little stressed out and confused over what we were just told by our pediatrician and I'm absolutely going to do my own research but I'm just curious what you guys have been told by your pediatricians or what your experience has been because I am a first time mom so if he's right and I'm wrong feel free to let me know but basically what we were just told is that breastmilk at this point is supplemental and that food is the main source of nutrition and he wants me to start breast-feeding less going longer stretches between feedings making sure that I don't feed him and he has an empty stomach before his meals And I'm just really confused because I always thought that milk was the main source of nutrition until their one and that food is supplemental so the complete opposite of what we were just told so again first time mom maybe I'm wrong but is that what you guys were told and Should I be listening or not I don't know what are you guys think

I'm curious to know how old your doctor is because that is not correct research or information. Milk is their main source of nutrition and food before the age of one.

Solids before one is just for fun, that's what they say. And my doctor always told me that give milk first before you give solids because that is our number one source of nutrition before the age of one.

So I definitely agree with you. That's why it threw me off so much because no research that I've ever done has said anything like that. I'm not sure how old he is, but he's definitely an older gentleman. So I don't know.

Maybe he's just going off old information but I really I really don't know why he's telling people that I don't know that really doesn't sit right with me.

Unless there's new research out there proving that this is correct, I don't think your doctor or your pediatrician is accurate.

I have always been told it was at 12 months old that you like lean away from like the breast milk and the breast milk should be like the primary source up until 12 months. I don't know that's what I was always told so unless something changed.

Yeah, so I was always told 12 months as well. I mean, unless... I don't even know. My only reasoning could think... I could think of would be maybe like for allergy reasons, like introducing your baby to like multiple foods.

This would be to prevent like an allergy maybe or something like that but yeah I would continue doing breast milk for as long as you can even past one honestly I know a ton of people who do that and it's still really beneficial for your baby if you can do that.

I used to breastfeed him more than he would eat and the other doctor said that it's very normal that He wants more breast milk than actual food. I don't remember him eating a lot actual food So I can

I can see why that's really confusing for you but yeah definitely do more research on it because even myself I'm a first time mom so I would be confused too
