Okay, quick scenario, you're anxious, you just got back from your job, your boss pissed you off, you're angry, you're anxious, whatever emotion it is. So you get home, and it's still lingering, how the fuck do I get rid of this? Well, you sit down, what I do, sit down, sit still, close your eyes, do box breathing. So, I do box breathing for five minutes, set a timer for five minutes, this is how box breathing works. You're going to inhale for four seconds, then you're going to hold for four seconds, then you're going to exhale for four seconds, then you're going to repeat and do it all over again. Now, important, as you are box breathing, you'll be focusing on your breath, but not only that, you'll be focusing on your sensations, the sensations in your body, specifically the sensations that are coming from whatever emotion it is. Say you're anxious, ask yourself, where am I feeling the anxiety, am I feeling it in my stomach, am I feeling it, you know what I mean, like am I feeling in the chest area? Whatever area you feel that sensation coming from, that emotion, you're going to focus on that as well. You can go from focusing on breathing to focusing on that, whatever, either one works, but you're going to notice as you focus on these sensations and you don't focus on the thoughts, if your thoughts start to wander, catch it and refocus on the sensation, refocus on the sensation in your body and on the breathing. As you do this, after five minutes, ten minutes, you're going to realize it has dissipated, the emotion's gone. Do this every time you feel emotional, uncomfortable emotions specifically.
