Barbara Gusturne was a well-known and beloved member of the New York City cabaret scene and a premier voice coach. She hit her head on the ground after being intentionally shoved by Lauren Pazienza, causing a hemorrhage to the left side of her brain. She died five days later in a hospital after being removed from life support. During the incident, she was on her way to a venue downtown to watch the performance of one of her students.
