So what happened to Atlantis? There's two main conclusions told, but they both end in the same fashion. One's a bit more philosophical, with a lesson of greed and power to be learned. Some leave it as simple as total destruction from natural disasters, including earthquakes, fires, tsunamis, floods. The other explains the destruction by the same natural disasters, but that there's a reason behind it, and that is that the Atlantis people lost favor with Zeus and the other gods because they had become an evil race of people, and therefore the gods punished the society by sending these natural disasters.
