I'm supposed to be studying. I have like a lot of readings to do but I can focus for some reason. I just keep getting distracted. Do you guys have like any advices from like real experiences?
Do your studying in short bursts and take some breaks in between. Look up something called the Pomelo Timer, because it'll give you time, like how much you should be spending studying, and then like how much you should be taking a break. It's really useful.
What you're talking about is the pomodoro technique. Pomodoro is Italian for tomato because it was a tomato timer, but it is a fantastic technique. 25 minutes of focused stuff and then five minutes, five to ten minutes of a break.
I have pretty severe ADHD and understand this so I listen to focus music in the background which seems to really help me with binaural beats. They have those on YouTube and then I do the pomodoro technique where 25 minutes on and then I take a five to ten minute break.
The other thing is, I like to make a game. I like to gamify it and give myself some type of a reward whenever I actually, you know, get stuff done. And then I also follow the Brian Tracy method of eating the frog. The thing you don't want to do the most, do that first.
