Do you know when your partner says I'm sorry after an argument and it's just like doesn't hit quite like I wanted to hit like it's not as comforting as you would like it to be like this is something that me and my girlfriend had to like work through and I think it all comes down to the question of like what does a genuine apology sound like to you you know I think the difference for everyone for me I would like to feel like heard and I would want them to understand why I was hurt and how to move forward and what to work on and ultimately like how we both You know contributed to the situation and what we both can do moving forward together I'm there so what does that look like for you
A general apology starts with saying I'm sorry like you could literally be clean yourself for 20 minutes but if I don't hear that I'm sorry or I apologize or you know I want you to know that I apologize like I have to hear I'm sorry in order to take it seriously so
See I'm very much that same way for sure my girlfriend I feel like she's the opposite she really give a fuck about hearing I'm sorry she needs that exclamation
I like this one. I feel like a genuine apology for like me receiving one would be like I'm sorry you know I'm gonna try and work on it work on the bad habit or whatever that you don't like or the thing that I'm doing that bothers you. I'm gonna try and work on it because I feel like as or with an apology is really changed behavior and vice versa I try to acknowledge like okay I know you don't like that, I'm going to try and change that behavior.
That is a good way to put it I completely agree that change behavior is the best apology arm and I really like to hear one that they are sorry too that they will change their behavior but they also want them to know why that is a trigger so that like it doesn't happen again so I completely agree
