Okay, what are your thoughts about homeschooling and going to an actual school for your kids? I actually, I don't know, I'm not against homeschooling at all. I just feel like I personally don't have the knowledge. Like if I could hire somebody to come to like my home to homeschool, then maybe that'd be a good idea. but like having to, having to homeschool like me, like doing the teacher job, I don't think I, I don't think I can do that because it's just like, that's what people go to school for, you know? To learn how to teach kids, child development and all that. So I am definitely, I think I'm most likely gonna send him to school once he's older. So I'm leaning more towards school versus homeschool. What about you guys? your thoughts.
OK so I definitely agree with you when you say like you know whoever's homeschooling their child should have the right amount of education to be able to teach their child what they need to be taught or have the funds to like bring someone in their home and like teach their kid for them but I also think you know if your kid is being homeschooled that they should definitely be in a ton of extra curricular activities that they can you know learn the social skills that they need to be around kids their age and like learn all that Learn all that
All right, so I could actually go on about this for a really long time, but I'm just gonna say, I homeschooled my daughter for kindergarten and it is a very daunting responsibility going into it. It's scary thinking, oh my gosh, I'm not gonna be good enough, I'm not gonna be enough, I'm not gonna teach the right things. It's a lot to worry about, but I'll tell you right now, I also have a teaching background, I have my teaching license and a lot of the teaching.
Background is about classroom management I mean when you're teaching 20 to 30 kids at once all with different learning styles all at different levels and abilities it is a lot to consider and when you're at home one on one with your child you don't have to consider all of that so I wouldn't let not having a background and teaching stop you from homeschooling especially also because
The access to curriculum and resources and support and information online now is so just available and excessive. You can find out anything you need. You can get anything you need to help you. The curriculums, like I purchased a math curriculum and even though I am a licensed math teacher, I follow this math curriculum. It literally tells me exactly what to say to the student, my child, and how to teach everything. It's all laid out.
So I think homeschooling is good I don't think it's for everybody but I do think it's good it's something that I've always thought about there's some things going on in the school that my daughter was going to start kindergarten at this fall that we are not fond of or a green with and it's just it's a big decision it's just a really hard decision of what to do and so I have been deep in the research of homeschooling and thinking that it's probably gonna end up happening
I still have like a year until I have to make a decision but I'm kind of the same boat there's a lot of things that are going on and I don't agree with and I don't want my child to be in a situation but I also think that you know as a child I love to school and there's so many great benefits from it as well so it's really hard decision and it's hard to figure out how to make it all work The best way
How tall are you I think it's a good strategy but you definitely have to be one of those parents that's on it because kids are very easy to get distracted but it's definitely good because I mean you get to teach your child 101 they get your full undivided attention and you know it beats them going to class and having to learn from a huge group so they kind of get a better
I am totally for homeschooling, but I also just don't know long term. I think for the first few years I am capable of teaching my son. But I think once we hit anything post like second or third grade, I just don't know if I'm the right person for that. But I would love to see him get into a sort of co-op situation or like a homeschool group or multiple kids are going to someone who
