So today I explained to my six-year-old how if we wanted to have a movie night and they're not so distant past, we would have to rent movies. They weren't on the TV. You would need to actually either own the DVD disc or way back when the BHS, but mostly the DVDs, or go to Blockbuster or rent them from the Red box and pay for it and then bring it home. So you'd be looking at the descriptions either on the red box or in blockbuster but they didn't they weren't just like on the TV and I think he looked at me like I'm a complete dinosaur. I know some of you are really young on this app but who remembers going to Blockbuster.
I have a box for I keep like old cards and like I have old high school ID cards in middle school leave it I really wish I would've kept my blockbuster card I feel like that would've been like super nostalgic but yeah deafly high school friends get the snacks movie night me and my friend Orlando scary movie is on about you guys or like a typical high school Romcoms
Yes I absolutely remember going to Blockbuster when I was in like grade school I actually have so many memories of going with my best friend and her dad like it was just something that we would always do and I have a lot of good memories about blockbuster but some thing funny that I was explaining recently to our older boys was that Netflix used to not be live streaming you had to order the DVDs do you remember that
And you had to have like a list and you would have to put like what your number one lake movie that you wanted was your number to your number three and like all the TV series you had to order and they would sometimes come out of order and oh my gosh I cannot believe that like that was even a thing
Wow I haven't thought about in so long with your right Netflix account and then you order the movies and then I have fun memories of the Redbox I remember like losing some of the DVDs and being like freaked out they were gonna charge me in the back when the cost for that would be detrimental to my budget but yes oh my gosh they would come in the mail that's crazy
Oh my gosh that really used to be the spice of loaf right now those movies those literally were the simpler days when that kind of things just brought so much joy to the kids heart
That was a long time ago, but I'll never forget. Friday nights was blockbuster night for me, and it was super fun. It's crazy how much has changed in such a short period of time.
Yes it's crazy how it was so normal for us and then I don't feel like I'm not old but I have to explain it to my child who like just his experience is so different like he can pick up a remote and talk to it and ask it what to put on the TV that's crazy you think that technology wouldn't even advance that much in a lifetime let alone just a couple decades
Yes I remember this so much it used to be such a weekly thing like we would go we'd pick out movies I remember all the sections I meant I remember the labels everything and then I remember when it kind of switched over to family video and we would do the exact same thing and that's what I feel like those were just a good old days like just a simple times excuse me when you would just go and you would all have to like pick a movie together and then be dedicated enough to watch it since you got it
Are bright like now my son can pick up the remote and like talk to it and like pull up trailers instantly what are used to be such an event in our blockbuster my hometown used to be near Denny's so sometimes we don't even like I get Denny's and then get a movie for my way home I will send over there's like ice cream or something typically a total event out of it that good all days
So I remember doing this is her she was my like older cousins and there was one they not too far from my house and they used to have like the big candy machine and I remember getting in the huge jawbreakers and like having them for like 23 weeks
Blockbuster was like one of my favorite memories growing up. Like I would get my popcorn, my microwave popcorn, my movie, and my candy. And we would just watch movies like all night. Like that was the best thing ever.
So I obviously never went to Blockbuster when I was younger because I am only 18 but my mom always talks about when she used to go to blockbuster and pick out some movies like she said it was just like the best she loved going there it was like her favorite thing they would go like every Friday and I just I totally wish we had a movie store like that
