Okay, getting straight to the point here. How do you calm down in the sense of whenever you're angry or Really upset about something or even anxious like you're anxious. You're wanting to do something. You want to put your best foot forward How do you calm down because for me? I feel like I Don't know. I just I feel like this is something I personally try to figure out but can never really resolve and I get impatient not gonna lie But Something I try to do is distract myself with music. I love listening to music I feel like music puts me in the best mood or a mood that can feel like okay. I'm on top of the world But yeah, that's just me. I'm just curious what techniques you take

So this is a really hard skill, especially if you have emotional dysregulation So I have like a meter in my head and I think it's good to be self-aware enough to recognize when that meter is in the red and you want to get it back down to amber or green and You really have to make sure you don't react to anybody like text messages especially Music is a good way. I believe

I believe there's a specific way you react to anxiety. I believe it's like name three things you can see, name two things you can touch. One thing that makes you smile that is like off the top of my head. There's like a specific way that you do it. And it really helps you bring you back to the present. But again, it's such a hard skill to practice because when you're in the moment, you're just surrounded by emotion and it powers you.

it just powers your action and especially if you have like adhd you're super compulsive and you lack that initiative in your brain but it's so hard like i know also meditation and breathing really helps but again i don't even practice these things but yeah it's uh i don't know there's loads of youtube videos that have plenty good advice it's just if you do it or not which i don't do enough of

So, personally I like to go out for a walk, or if I'm not able to do that at the time, maybe do a bit of meditation, focus on my breathing and stuff like that, they really help. And music is a great thing to use as well, but it all depends on the issue.

I take a nap. Taking a nap is so relieving. I take a nap if I'm like feeling some type of way, you know, or if I get anxious or if I get anxiety like I start thinking about the past or something and I'm like, why did I do that in that conversation? I could have said this. I could have said that. I knock out. That's about it.

Um, that's a good one the thing about music right is that if you're like upset this goes for like almost any emotion, right? if you're like angry listening to stuff like that kids like That just depends on what kind of metal but if you are listening to metal and you're upset or whatever It's probably gonna make you even more upset as far as like anger goes Same thing with if you're sad if you're sad and you're listening to you know sad music you're gonna be even more sad So you have to kind of switch the vibe on whatever you're listening
