What's the coolest item you've made? So a couple years ago, someone gave me a set of nightstands, two pieces, and I honestly didn't like them as they were, and I took it upon myself to DIY them. And the whole process was really fun, like very therapeutic, and I had the best time I swear. And it was so much more cheaper as well than something I could have bought from a store. And so now I want to ask you what's the coolest item you've made and obviously DIY counts?
So I was in the psych entrepreneurship class in high school and I invented a purse that had interchangeable patterns it was like sewed into the purse itself into like a Ziploc compartment and it kind of pulled out so you can like wrap it around and make it look like another pattern
Okay, actually though, that's really iconic. And if you ever consider doing that again, I would love to buy it from you because honestly, that could be my new It Purs this summer. So thank you for that.
I don't know about the coolest but it definitely was one of the most important and that was a do-it-yourself Berkey water filter. Now Berkey is top-of-the-line filtration but I did not have Berkey money at the time so I made it with their filters at about a quarter of the price.
I don't know if this counts because it's not 100% do it yourself, but I enjoy re-upholstery So I will get free or close enough to free crap furniture on Craigslist and other places like that and strip it down stand it paint it Re-upholster it, whatever you need to do, and sell it for tremendously more.
This one's gonna... I put a lot of thought into this one, but I'm gonna have to say my Bluetooth speaker. Yes, I made my own Bluetooth speaker. I took the trash from an old broken Bluetooth speaker that I literally found on the side of the road. We rewired it to an old box... like, you know, fucking box speaker. It may have worked. And I got my help to fix it with me, so I had like two speakers hooked up and also... Yeah, that would be it.
I think the only real significant DIY thing I made myself was like a leather bound notebook. It works pretty well. It feels decent, looks decent, but I definitely want to do another one in the future. comes out really nice.
