So around 2010 is when unboxing videos became very popular, but now it seems like there's spend a flip and people want packing videos. Why do you think this is happening?
Yo, I've seen a lot of those packing videos. There's this one place I buy from. It's like these snacks that come from Japan and everything. And I don't know. I don't know why I like seeing packing videos. I just like to see my stuff go in the box.
Now I will say that the quality of packaging and how it arrives and everything has gone way up since those packaging videos have come out. So I do think it's a really, really dope thing.
What I've always shared with my clients is like you want to give them the experience from the time that they order to the time the box or whatever they have arrived. So the paper, the notes, everything should be an experience. I'm glad that you're seeing that happen.
And just because you don't have a storefront doesn't mean you can't give your clients or your customers an experience. People forget that part. We enjoy unboxing stuff and having a cute moment for ourselves and the privacy of our home, get it together.
It's such an offshoot of capitalism consumerism culture isn't it like I have liked and boxing in the past I have to admit I used to watch graveyard girl Wayback in the day
I don't think I'd watch a packing video on YouTube but never say never because I used to think ASMR was weird night I partake every day I fucking love ASMR so yeah I get it but it is weird because it's all about consumerism
That's so funny because I was just saying something about ASMR in a comment that I was responding to below. But yeah, I'm totally not into ASMR. Probably never will be, but I like the packing videos. own packing, packing, it's all good for me.
Yes, it has switched. I don't know why because people like to do all these haul videos now where they're about a bunch of stuff from one company, I guess, spend a bunch of money and just show all the stuff that they ordered. I mean, hey, if they got the money to do it, hey, more power to them.
I think this is something you see more with smaller businesses because they put so much love and care into their packaging and writing notes and little extras here and there so people enjoy seeing those.
Yeah I think the issue that happened with I'm boxing videos is companies just don't want you to just unboxed your shit and then just move onto the next video I actually want to use it that's why I stopped watching it was on boxes because it became just on boxes
I'm like an influencer and I feel like people still do like in boxing but instead of technology is more so like clothing or just products that you can use in the house
Honestly, I think it depends on the niche because I think for small business owners, packing is more interesting. But for like big corporations, they still, like the unboxing videos are more entertaining.
I think a lot of packing videos are for items that don't need to be assembled or like demonstrated on how to use. So like art or food or stuff like that where it's just like a really simple product.
