I may have grown up poor in a rich county, Marin County, San Rafael, California It was kind of a dichotomy, you know But, growing up on Sesame Street I felt like I did more time on the stoop of 123 Sesame Street than any of these fools But, really, the television was an extended family and public television, growing up on it, with Sesame Street and Zoom and Mr. Rogers and even Mystery Playhouse Theater and The Mysteries on Sundays because it started off with a cartoon, so that was good for me. It taught me how to judge people from the way they act, not the way they look. And that's something that I always have stuck to. I gave everyone a chance. I feel like there was unity once. We were making progress towards it, strong progress too. And I feel that 9-11 was kind of the first of a few different disruptions and gaslighting and shoving narratives down our throats. Let racism die. Let unity regain its traction and the progress that we were actually making. Celebrate that. Don't let people forget it. If you remember it, talk about it, share about it. I love each and every one of you. Thank you.
