Hey stereo so I hang online I love me some hamburger helper with extra black pepper and everything else I was just grateful for it is probably why I'm not as picky as I am now as a young adult but definitely let me know what was your favorite struggle meal in the comments below
Do those are called beanie weenies in that picture. We used to call them beanie weenies I used to eat those all the time as a kid I used to ask for like beanie weenies as a kid and Like I don't really like them that much now because like I ate them so much as a kid and they're kind of too sweet for me
Good evening, Carbon. Shout out to you. Hope you're having a lovely evening. Thank you for the question on this. So my family, until 2001, we actually grew up really poor, like we were in extreme poverty. And I do remember like the struggle meals my mom would put together. One of them I absolutely hated was, oh, I'm running out of time.
One of the struggle meals I absolutely hated as a child, but fuck with today, is the really cheap off-brand macaroni and cheese with baked beans, like the really cheap kind of baked beans, hot dogs, and a can of peas in it. My mom used to mix that together. It was so gross when I was a kid, but I had it again as an adult. It's actually not bad. Add some pepper to it.
Personally, I still find myself reaching for like a mayonnaise sandwich or like a mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup sandwich every once in a blue moon. Now we had access to that after my parents were no longer in extreme poverty. I was just neglected as a child. And that's what, you know, we would have to sneak some food, you know. But you know, yeah.
And I know you didn't ask, but you might be wondering about the tone of my voice as I say, oh, we had mayonnaise sandwiches. I've had years and years worth of counseling and have worked through a lot of my childhood trauma. So I've healed in a lot of ways and I find that I can talk about those things. But excellent question. I do hope you have a lovely evening. And I'll be thinking about other struggle meals we used to have as a kid and see if I can incorporate it.
Because the way I see it, struggle meals doesn't mean it wasn't a nutritious meal in some facets. It just may have not tasted the best to me as a kid. I think it was more because that meal I mentioned with the mac and cheese and the peas, I think it was because it was all mixed together. But separate, you know, it's not that bad.
