I just love how in the Bible God refers to himself and Jesus as a tree or he uses nature a lot to explain like different concepts. So in this example, he would be the root and we are the branches that are connected to the tree of life. So it was another Bible verse, I don't know if it's somewhere else in Romans or if it's a different book, but it talks about how if branches aren't producing fruit, then they will be cut off. So fruit, the fruits of the Spirit, love, kindness, it's a few more I forget, but it's different fruits of the Spirit. If we aren't producing those fruits, then how can we say that we're a part of the body of Christ? So then we're cut off. It's not cut off indefinitely, it's cut off until we decide to repent and to obey what Christ has told us. So I love this verse because it just reminds us to be humble and just because someone else got cut off doesn't mean we can't be in that same boat. We probably will because we're not perfect and we're always gonna like need Jesus to lean on Him to get out of our flesh and to be led by the Spirit. So yeah, and He's the root and we're the branches and our goal is to produce fruit. So I just really love this verse and I just wanted to share that.
girl this is so good i'm literally like that is so true like what happens when you want to say that you want to have a relationship with god but then you don't follow it up with your actions like it falls off because you're not committed so it's just like um so good that you said that even because i feel like we forget that you know that there's actually a responsibility god not just by the love on us and not expect nothing back to have a relationship that's reciprocal
