Jane Chavez was shot and killed in November of 2022 in Georgia after Nakia Dorsey learned of her long-term relationship with a man who had been away in the army. While the couple was sitting in the car, Dorsey approached them while pointing a handgun. In all, 20 bullets pierced the car and Chavez was hit in the arm and the torso, eventually succumbing to her wounds. Dorsey was sentenced to life plus 25 years.
