hello what's up everyone and welcome to today's reality check. Myth or reality to commit a crime not only must a person engage in a harmful act he or she must do so intentionally. Unintentional acts don't count. Myth or reality? I will be back with the answer to this after I got any more comment like you can comment on this and I'll come back with the answer on it I'm gonna give it a couple days peace and love y'all
Welcome back to Reality Check. There's been no comments, so I'm going to go ahead with the answer. It is a myth. Although most common law crimes require intent, strict liability crimes do not have a mental requirement. Telling a police officer you did not intend to be speeding when you were stopped on the highway does not help you avoid a ticket. So yeah, it's a myth. See you next time on Reality Check. Peace and love y'all.
