I just got done watching Jonah Hill's directorial debut called Mid 90s and it came out in 2018. I will say that this is a great directorial debut by Jonah Hill and I'm very amazed at this film. I'm not gonna lie. I really enjoyed this one. This film is about a little boy who's just trying to fit in because he once had nothing and his name is Stevie. He gains friends along the way that has to make some questionable decisions leading to bad choices including alcohol and smoking pretty much all simply because he found people who are labeled as his friends because he didn't have any thinking that these choices are cool the little boy continues to do them but while making these friends he becomes very passionate about skateboarding so there is some positives that come with it there was also a few film elements that stood out to me like the camera has a grainy and sandy feel to make it express the 90s to a greater extent and i'm not sure if this This is intentional, but the screen ratio was smaller to make it seem like a 90 screen, and I really enjoyed that as well. Great life lessons in this one as well, that range from trying to fit in to make you seem cool, to don't let people discourage you from what you enjoy. If you guys are looking for a film and have HBO Max, I really recommend this one. I'm not even lying.
Yeah great review man I really like this I've been meaning to watch this and I didn't really know it was ultimately about but that with you explaining it I'm deafly gonna probably bump on my watchlist cause it's I've been meaning to check it out so yeah awesome can't wait
Yeah definitely watch Mid90s but it was one of my favorite movies of 2018 I think I put it on my top 10 list it's a great great little movie and if you like skateboarding so much better you don't have to like skateboarding at all just a great like hang out movie and kind of what happens to the group of friends you hang out with
Nice he just watched Mid90s I remember watching it as a really awesome film seen it years ago they are definitely solid and glad you made a post about it and I may have to watch it because it's been a while but I made a soundbite about the movie a sound of noise if you want to check that out it is a foreign film but it's really interesting one ahead
Love me some Mid90s I'm glad it's getting some much deserved love I feel like I just kind of came and went when it came out if you like this movie I would recommend minding the gap it's a documentary came out the same year about skateboarding just as good I actually like it a little bit better I know it came out on criterion a couple years ago I know you're you'll be able to find it streaming somewhere I want to say Hulu but yeah might even gap good good Stuff
Personally for me this movie is on top 10 out of 10 because I skate and like this kind of inspired me to skate more and be better at it and Stevie Stevie is like he can take a bad fall that like really inspired me
