So it was announced today that there is a writer strike in LA I think most of the entertainment industry in LA is going to be shut down the studios the union that represents the studios like Disney Universal Amazon Netflix hasn't managed to agree a deal with the union that represents the writers that people write these projects so the writers are now striking as of today if I'm right in saying that I think none of the writers can work anymore until the new deal the new contract has been negotiated the last one I think in 2004 was like 100 days they were striking for a long long time and it might be longer than 100 days if I I read it yesterday but it was longer than 100 days and yeah this is gonna pretty much shut down the entertainment industry so where did you know this is happening and are you affected by it in anyway do you work in the entertainment industry yeah let me know
Didn't I feel like I'm having deja vu? Didn't this happen approximately like 10 years ago? Because I remember that there was a delay and I think was it how I met your mother? And no, not friends, some other show I can't really remember right now. now, but I'm almost positive that there was this exact kind of strike about 10 years ago due to the same thing.
Yeah you're right you're the worst and yeah it was definitely like tale of years ago and it lasted a long time like more than 100 days but I think the studios Disney universal Paramount they're losing like millions every day because they can't sign off on any new projects and no new projects can get written so kind of rice is kind of like killed a streaming services by holding out so long now because 10 years ago there in a streaming services that relied on Contento
It is so insane that it just takes one thing like this to just create a massive massive buzz in Hollywood and I hope they get what they deserve because I believe right it should be paid more they really should they are the reason the shows are why they're so great you know the talent does so much but it's it's basically the writing it's the paper
Yeah they do I think the reason is this time is because they're streaming services right nobody gets paid the same for a series on streaming service than they did when it was on like network or like Disney Channel paid more than Disney+ I think you know like Fire by a big difference and I think they're trying to decrease the gap between like five years ago on networking you know streaming services because they don't get paid as much for streaming and everything streaming
