What impact, if any, do you think subtitling films has on language learning? For me, the impact I have is a big, massive impact because you can catch up and learn different languages by watching different types of films with subtitles very easily. So there's a lot of benefits by watching Fuller Subtiles.
I gotta say that there's a positive and negative impact to this. Positive is that you, with the subtitling films, is that you're learning another language, right? If it's a different language. The downside of it is you can't tell what is slang and what is not slang. So for, to kind of keep in mind, the terminology might be different. So that's only downside of it. You might be learning slang.
Me personally if you're learning the language and watching subtitles I think it gives you a better understanding of what you're actually listening to and you could pick up words quicker and I don't know I feel like a lot of people pick up languages from movies I may be wrong but from what I've heard on peoples experiences this is what I've been told
I think it's huge I need to do that more just to get my Italian much better the only problem for me is when it's a film they're speaking so quickly and I'm reading so quickly so a lot of times I'll rewind to be like what was that word I always say that word but I think it is very very good to read subtitles in other languages
I think it helps you learn possibly in your language or if you're learning the language it helps you pick up on certain phrases and things that you might not have noticed before in conversation. So if you want to learn French and you're learning it, maybe watching a the film, that's French, we're French subtitles, we help.
