I do change the batteries in my smoke detector. A very common thing that I hear on stereo is that when you hear that high-pitched beeping, people are not checking the hardwire wire. That actually means that you need to get that carbon monoxide detector fixed.

Funny you ask, I just checked mine, the ones in my apartment, and they were over 10 years old. No wonder they weren't beeping. So I got new ones.

Honestly, I don't know, because I don't have that problem and I live in an apartment. So, yeah, if I did hear a chipper, no, I would definitely call the maintenance man because that's not my job.

I only change it when it goes off and beeps but even then I normally have my dad do it.
