People are starting to use social media platforms to search for things, look for reviews, get opinions, far more than they are going to search engines like Google. Do you think that social media has potential to erase search engines in the way that we search and people just solely rely on social media.

I personally don't think so. I think it's good that search engines operate for the purpose they do and social media operates for the purpose it does. But if it was combined it would just for everything to be too much on one platform.
