It's cuz he's wet, but also, yeah, it low-key looks like he's in prison cuz he is. That cage is not big enough for a rat to be living in, if it is a rat. Uh, like, way too fuckin' small. And if he also doesn't have a friend, he'll get depressed.

If that's a rat, you need to be looking into getting a much bigger cage as soon as you can, because that is not at all a suitable living space. There's not nearly enough space for him to be able to run around and get the exercise that he needs. If it's also just the one, please look into getting a second one, because no matter how much time you spend trying to bond with it, it will be depressed on its own. Also get some toys please, like some chew toys and also like a something. I really just want him to live the best life that he can.

Oh thank you I thought it was the only one I was thinking that like this is not an appropriate enclosure size for this animal it doesn't matter if it's a rat or a hamster or guinea pig it like or a mouse this is not the correct enclosure you can tell just by looking at it it's not on the right bedding either I don't keep hamsters or I don't keep rodents as pets but I do keep ball pythons and I know a lot about exotic pet keeping in this is not OK at all this border going to be use

Dude, yeah, I've, I did so much research before I got my boys and I've had him, well I've had one of them at least for over, well over two years at this point, and just like, I don't understand how you can like, either ignore or just not do the research to realize that like, this is not an okay place for it to live. Like imagine you being stuck in a half bathroom for like your entire life and only being let out for an hour a day. That's fucking abuse, man.
