So, I saw a recent post that proposed the idea of kids being allowed to vote. So I introduced this question to you, Stereostreats. Should kids be allowed to vote for important political candidates? Please comment below. List reasons why or why not. Let's get the discussion going. Also, if you're fine with children voting, at what age limit would you propose and why?

I was saying no because children are naturally very ignorant on the political situation and quite frankly so are the vast majority of adults. So yeah.

I feel like this is a game of let's see who can come up with the stupidest, craziest idea and make it work.

Well Rumi, if this was 20 years ago I could get all the votes from the kids if I said you vote for me You will get a Charizard Pokemon card And I wish I was joking by saying that.

Thank you, Kisa, for sharing your point of view. I value it. You are correct. Most adults are ignorant when it comes to who they are voting for. Most people just vote for the color of the political side they are on, at least in the United States. But they don't take time to get to know the candidates enough to really know what they're voting for. So Cheers to knowledge, right? knowledge is power.

I love the point of view that you made here. Children are impressionable. They are easily manipulated and led. So, yes, it would not take much for a child to vote. Plus, they wouldn't really understand the depth of what they are voting for and why they should or should not vote for this candidate. I do agree with you on that. But children, tell them to vote for something and bribe them. them, they more than likely will do it unfortunately.

Absolutely not I feel like I should just stay 18+ because only adults should be able to vote

Because I didn't do the name the kids don't really know much about folding and stuff and adults no more so you know we're not adult not all adults but some adults and yeah and I feel like voting is important to sometimes depending on the lake who you're voting for

How desperate are they for votes that they want to allow the children of people having the most children to be the ones that vote? I also saw something about this with prisoners and felons like, oh, we'll let them vote again because we desperately need their votes. Hmm, I wonder which side this favors.

I personally think it should be on a case-by-case basis whether a felon should be allowed to vote because not every felony is created equally even though it is treated pretty much the same in society. Some people become felons on a simple crime that they committed in their lifetime when they were young and I even didn't know about the world.

And with that being said, as they spent their time in prison, they matured. They don't go out and re-offend. They are more conscientious and have emotional intelligence by the time they get out of prison. So I think individuals like that should be allowed to vote. Obviously hardened criminals shouldn't, in my opinion, be allowed to vote. You know again, case by case basis.

I personally haven't seen any debates over whether children should be allowed to vote. I only saw the topic idea online in a short writing prompt. So for me personally, I don't think children should be allowed to vote because there are certain things they cannot give informed consent on and I think when it comes to voting, and and I'll hit it up the next comment.

When it comes to voting, children may not understand the depth as to what they are exactly voting for. They may not have the emotional nor cognitive development to understand the depth of what they are voting for pros and cons, consequences of voting for said candidate. So I definitely degree. I'm tired. I definitely agree with you. I think it does come from a place of desperation.

Well, Moon, this is exactly why I despise politics because the other one majority of people are completely ignorant about the subject in question, even the so-called educated types here on stereo, pale in comparison to what I know when it comes to politics. And quite frankly, yes, they already do his votes along tribal lines all because of what color it is, or if there's an and are in the D in the United States case. And this is why I'm a monocist, among other things.

Yes, at 13 because of hormones and they should do like a dare thing. Get rid of the whole dare thing. Just fuck that shit. If you want to do drugs, they can. They think that stopped us, for real, that ass. There's nothing wrong with drugs. But we're gonna end that conversation there and we're gonna say instead of drugs, let's do voting. Let's influence kids to start voting at a very young age so that they'll want to vote. like actually want to vote.

Nah. Kids are still developing their ego. They don't want to be outcasted. They don't want to be left out. So if we left a vote open for them, they would probably attach to the most popular agenda because they don't want to be outcast and put to the side. Not to mention the political propaganda and jargon that's going to be directed at kids, it's going to be way too volatile. I don't like this idea.

And you know what I mean? Like reverse psychology for politics and voting already happens to us And we don't even realize it. The opposite, the side that you are probably least drawn to They are doing their best to swing your motherfucking vote and in weird fucked up psychological ways and I feel like that should be so illegal and kids should not have to go through any of that.

Children voting would be like the nail in the coffin to kind of just show us all that our political system is just a big charade it's not real George Carlin said it best do you have the illusion of choice and this is just gonna blow that up even further so yeah limbo who fucking cares my sons to Lisa's buggers I'll listen to anything he says
Responder

Okay, so first, no kids should vote. You gotta be at least 18 years old to vote. And kids don't know how to make good choices, so no, I don't need them to vote.

The kitchen didn't be allowed to vote at all. They say that a child's brain isn't fully developed until they're 25, so they want to restrict them from getting guns, but can join the military at 18. So the question is, why are we allowing them to make any decision before the age of 18, less 25.
Responder

Nah, fuck letting kids vote, put them in political debates where they can't be interrupted, and they get to like scrutinize the presidents without knowing anything about the world. And I promise you, promise you, you will see some changes. Like this, it'll be like, sort of like kids say the darndest things, but are you smarter than a 6th grader, but it's real.
