All right so for those of you that don't know Instagram is releasing a subscription where you can pay $15 a month to become verified what do you guys think about this I personally think that this is the worst move that Instagram could possibly make but they're gonna make a ton of money from it let me know what you think

I see it, Larson. Don't worry. I mean, it's a, like I said, it's a stock, right? It's a public company. They want to maximize revenue. This is a way to maximize your revenue and we're the product. So ultimately it doesn't matter what they choose to do with the audience.

I would have to say I hate this idea and it just means that anybody is going to be able to be verified and I am not going to be paying nobody no $15 just to have a blue check. I would rather go through the real process.

That's a good point as well, like how is this going to change the real process? Maybe you won't even be able to go through the real process if you don't pay the money. So like, that's a big downside too for folks that are close.

I definitely agree with you on that. They're going to make a lot of money because I know a lot of people are going to jump on that. But I don't think they should have done that. But I guess since Twitter had something similar, they felt they could. But I don't agree.

I think these platforms are just getting too old and like they're not pivoting to like a new business model So like they just have to monetize on the people that are already on there You know what I mean? They're not gonna like make a new they're not gonna make a new Instagram. I guess

Instagram is literally dead. I view it comparable to Facebook nowadays. Not really a platform where you can gain visibility anymore. It's more so for connecting with people.

I'm a digital consultant for businesses and people looking to grow brand awareness and community building. And Instagram is a platform I do not recommend businesses to focus their efforts on.

especially for my creatives out there, instagram will be hard to tap into and get exposure so i'd suggest going to platforms like tiktok or even creating evergreen content for youtube fuck instagram
