With technology increasing, is the future of dating going to be algorithms with AI telling you who you're compatible with? Or is it going to be old school matchmaking? Organic relationships where you just go out and you meet people and that's never going to die. You weigh in.

I think as people spend more time at home and Covid's made them weird, I think it will be online unfortunately, which is the way it's going to go. That makes me feel quite sad that people are not going to meet organically unless...

I think it's cute you think there's gonna be such a thing as relationships or dating in the future

Will you see it going some other way? And if so, where do you think it's headed?

I think we've already established that organic relationships is something that is very much so rare. And I definitely believe that AI will be involved in romantic relations in the future.

To be honest with you, Rachel, I have a bad feeling about this. We'll see.

Well, I agree with you. My only question is to what degree do we give up our own free will to this decision-making machine? Would you leave the person you're with if the AI said someone else was better for you?

I think in the future of dating will be algorithms based on algorithms

is that AI is not very good and those algorithms are not great either. I think that the people that function are going to continue on and if things don't function, they're going to die.

Well, the algorithms might not be great yet. The point is they're getting more accurate all the time. Eventually I feel people will defer their own decision making to the algorithm because the algorithm says it will give them a better chance.

Yeah, the current trends that I'm seeing when it comes to dating, I don't think AI is going to fix any of that. especially what we have about throwaway culture and certain people having a laundry list of qualities they want in a partner.

Well, serendipitously, meeting people is never going to end, but online dating definitely is going to be the default in the future.

Realistically, it's probably going to be a mix of both. The recommendations made to you in matchmaking will be informed by algorithms, just as they are today.

Androids, robots, and intergalactic beings can now mate with humans.

Now that is a good ass soundbite.

Yeah, definitely AI.

I hope the hell not, because algorithms are ridiculous and online dating is trash. Meeting somebody in person is immediate. You know you like how they look, you know you like how they talk, whatever. Organic relationships will never be replaced. But algorithms, ugh, yuck.

But what happens if you're with somebody and one day they decide to leave you and you're like, what's wrong? We're happy. And she's like, Hey, well, this algorithm told me that I have a 25% increase in happiness and longevity with someone else. So I'm just leaving for them. Because the algorithm is right.
