I know my younger brother had a bad habit of asking for a toy and throwing a tantrum every time we were at the store but my son hasn't really been like that and we do pass by the toy aisle so I'm worried it won't be like that forever

I say no, but I probably would.

I'm trying to really enforce that we can't always get what he wants and yes sometimes he does kind of crying a little bit but you know it doesn't last for like

I have an eight-year-old and what worked for me is letting him hold it as we walk around the store because it's like they just want to look at it for a little bit by the time you get ready to leave and it'll keep them distracted, they'll probably be bored.

My kids used to be super good about like when we would go by the toy aisle they would just look at the toys and they wouldn't care. But now my daughter is like more interested in toys and so she wants to take some home with us like every time we go. And we can't get one every time.

So usually when I just explain it to her that like we can't get a toy every time she's fine but sometimes there will be times where like she'll get upset about it but my son never really has an issue with not getting a toy he doesn't really care, it doesn't bother him.

I don't buy her a toy every time we go to the store because I don't want her to be that spoiled. But anytime she's with my mom, she always gets a toy because that's her grandma and her grandma's not going to say no.

I would be the one looking for toys to buy and just encouraging the BS. But once I realized we have wasted much stuff, I tried to limit how much time we buy toys or what's going on. Let them know before we get into the story that we're not good at.

We haven't really got to that age yet but I wouldn't want to buy her a toy every time the past the toy aisle the question will be are we going to be able to tell her no to her sweet face?
