and so by now we should all be familiar with the Carly Russell story and what is happening if you do happen to live under a rock and have no idea what I'm talking about Carly Russell faked an abduction and she basically did it just to get the attention of her ex-boyfriend so my question is should charges be pressed against her for what she did should she have to do some kind of jail time at all what should her punishment be what do you guys think
Hell yeah, jail time! We gotta make a... we gotta nip this in the bud, right? People doing scandalous and illegal shit to get clicks. It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable.
Jail. Jail. Jail. Jail. Jail. Jail. That, unfortunately, like at least a little bit of time. Maybe like, not like a whole lot of time, like maybe like a couple of years. Like not even a couple of years, like a year. A year. I'd say a year. She won't tell that lie again after a year.
Good evening Kiss My Grits. Shout out to you. So I commented on this soundbite yesterday, but I see you have it up again today. And I just want to say, I've thought about it. The fact that she faked her abduction to get the attention of her ex-boyfriend. She did not think this one through and she had a whole lot of trouble for it.
As the law stands today, I know she is probably going to jail because falsifying a police report, plus all of the resources the police pulled in to try to find her search and rescue and all of that, that cost the state money and time when there is an actual serious matter happening elsewhere that didn't get the attention that it needed.
I personally think after thinking about the situation a little bit more that there's definitely and I'm not a doctor I am NOT a mental health specialist or anything like that right I have no formal degrees but when I say this I say this for my personal opinion I do think that she has some mental health issues that are unchecked that need to be checked and dealt with properly however for the time that she wasted of the state and the money
Because she did indeed commit crimes, right, I think she should be held accountable for those crimes that she committed because anybody else would be held accountable for those crimes in any other situation in theory, right? Considering the laws that are in place, but I have seen people bend the law, you know, so I get that happens. However, I do think she should be charged.
However, I'm not sure that jail is the answer because what is that going to do? It's just going to, in my opinion, as I said last night to the soundbite here, it's just going to exacerbate the problem. It's not going to get her the help that she needs, right? Obviously, she's got some loose bolts upstairs, you know? So, I think mental institution for a period of time, you know.
I think she should also have to pay the state back for all of the resources and time they put into trying to find her. I think she should have to pay that back as well to the state. However amount of money that is, I don't know. But it's such an unfortunate situation and you know it's crazy that someone would go all that length just to impress a boyfriend.
On the bright side of things, kiss my grits, I do hope you have a lovely evening. Thank you for sharing the soundbite with us and giving us the opportunity to brainstorm.
I mean, I guess you do got to press charges, right? Just to teach everyone a lesson going forward like, hey, this is unacceptable. I just hope she walk with like probation or something and not hard jail time because that's not the help she need. But you do have to draw a line in the sand and show people you can't do this or I can't even say that. You know what I mean? It's just unfortunate though.
I can definitely agree with that. There definitely needs to be some consequence for, you know, what she did, the time she wasted, the panic that she caused. It's already against the law to file a fake, you know, police report. So claiming, you know, that you've seen a toddler on the side of the road. That's that's that really did. I don't know. Yeah, there should be some consequence. I do agree with that. I don't know what it should be, though.
Yo, I wonder if she saw it in a movie or something, where did she get the whole concept of even doing the whole, I saw a toddler on the side of the highway, that's wild, where did that come from?
You know I don't I don't know I feel like that was just a last-minute lie she was like literally on the freeway like she had all the other plans ready cuz she already had the hotel room books or whatever she had the the burner phone and she had the you know the the prepaid debit card she had all that already set up so I think she was literally on the side of the freeway just driving like okay now's the time and that's just the bullshit she came up with I don't know
Hell yeah, she should go to jail. How you gonna play with the stuff? The government time. You got the government, you got the every alphabet way out there looking for you. Hell yeah. They gonna lock her ass up.
