Do you think the saying, it takes a village to raise a child true?

If it's true then the village should also have a say in whether there's going to be a kid or not. Because I ain't responsible for anyone's poor life choices and I ain't gonna be part of that village, you know? If someone decides to breed, that's not my problem.

That's a good point no one thought of yet, Eve, or I guess that I heard. Community should always be cognizant of resources. I think people may overextend themselves sometimes.

I agree it is possible to do it alone, but I would prefer that the child be socialized. That's the big thing. Children need to be socialized and interact with children and adults.

Socialization is super important. I know, good call, good call.

I think it's true, but how big that village is, is completely up to the parents. So like, for parents, it might just be one or two people. It might be 10, 20, 30. You never know.

That's a good point Lily. It doesn't, I mean people think of the word community and they automatically assume it's a lot of people but immediate family could be a community, few people who are friends, co-workers, whatever, it doesn't have to be huge.

Yes, I think it does for sure. You need support. You can't just do everything on your own and parenting is really hard and you need that support system, not just for your kid, but also for you and your significant other. So yes.

Yeah, good call out, Caitlin. Everybody needs support, especially when you have children, not even, not just the child, but the parents too. I think that's forgotten about sometimes.

Uhhh, I think it depends on the child, like, if they're a fucking psychopath and trying to kill people. Yeah, I think it might take a few people to restrain them. Just a few. But, um, other than that, no. I think it takes culture, but culture comes from the phone, so no.

Yeah, so I mean even if they're on a phone, per your argument, I would argue that's still a village. It's a different kind of village, but it's like an online village, but it is still a community.

I'm saying yes, but I'm not saying... and like... everyone. I was thinking of the question a bit differently than everyone else, but yes. Yes, it does. Just some kind of outside force to raise them.

Kids are impressionable, right? So that's definitely, I would say that's like a huge community that like people overlook so I agree for sure.

It would help the child to establish their own personal identity and increase a very valuable skill, communication.

In that way yeah, I mean the way I teach my son is I use the whole village to teach my son like I'm like look at this twat look what he does don't do that.

Honestly, I do think it's true because there is literally so, so, so much to raising a child and having help or having that village would make it so much easier. So for the people that don't, it's probably rough.

Yeah, I mean, I think everybody agrees that nobody should go through it alone and that people who do are rock stars, but, you know, every kid should have like a diverse set of experiences hopefully if they're able to.
Responder
Copiar enlace del post
Yes, I think it's most definitely true because it really does take a village to raise a child. And if you have no support system, then it sucks.
