I think Having a conversation online is not podcasting that's just bullshitting if you want to have a podcast and you have to be organized and stay on topic

Yeah good point Dave I'm still kind of experimenting stereo for me it's more of a networking place right now and a place for me to practice podcasting and also fine for the cohost but I agree structure is key

I agree, I agree. Structure is key. It's one thing to open up the conversation, and I've been guilty of this too. I think a lot of conversations in stereo just meander around and they don't stay on point and then go on for hours and hours where it should be multiple different shows on multiple different topics, but that's just my perspective.

Yeah, I agree with you. I used to have a podcast, now I just do a show. The thing is, I could never commit to regular timing slots, so for me it's more difficult. I like to outline the show though, there has to be a kind of topic. But I also like, if it's going to be interactive, I like being able to take a stroll along Tangent Boulevard.

Yeah, that's a great point, Julie. I think that's my favorite approach, is to have an outline, have a main topic, have an outline, maybe even a link or, you know, article or video to refer to, to show people that they can get some more information on, and then open it up to conversation on the topic.

You know it's strange because I had this conversation with at Madame Sarah about Sometimes we might start her Example was we might start by talking about putting avocados up your bum and then we might end up on Russian politics I mean, I don't think we've ever done that but but she's right sometimes we that we like to go with the flow But at least kind of start have some kind of outline

Well, there you go. From avocados, from anal avocados, to Russian politics, and everything in between. I used to love that feature that Stereo had for a minute where you could pre-schedule shows so if I was doing an hour-long show, it would then bump me to my next hour-long show. That way I could schedule things and have it organized.

Look my friend, I always think that improvising is really good. This is actually pretty good for a samba you did here. But improvising is always a strong point and a strong suit with many.

I agree, I like improvisation. I used to actually do a couple, I've done a few straight-up improv shows, you know, where like improv comedy or whatever. Actually I did an improv comedy show with a couple people, Seabird and Scott, for like six months, but so I agree.

I think my favorite way to do a show on stereo is to have a topic, maybe have a few bullet points that I want to hit, maybe have a resource that I can put a clip of, you know, put the link to, whether that's a documentary, a news story, an article, you know, and then start on that topic, but not have a script, right? So, you know, cover a few bullet points and then open up the conversation.

I guess the impetus for me asking this question in this soundbite was because I seem to stumble upon a lot of conversations on stereo that really don't have any topic and it's just kind of a meandering conversation and you know nothing wrong with that but I'm big into podcasting and there's got to be at least a general topic.
