Love is fake. It's just a chemical instead of your brain that allows reproduction to happen. So, no, it does not hurt at all.

See, this is the problem right here. We confuse love with infatuation and are preoccupied with chasing addiction and obsession, and don't even know what love is anymore. and then we can't figure out why our relationships are so dysfunctional.

I'm not sure where this gentleman is located, but here in the west, we are not taught that love takes years to build and that it is not built upon a foundation of infatuation.

We are not taught that we can become infatuated only with someone who is bad for us because of what triggers those biochemical reactions, but instead are taught to actively seek infatuation and call it love. This is why our relationships are so unstable and miserable.

Lia, I don't know if you misunderstood, but describing love as to what it actually is doesn't take away or add anything to love itself.

A good book is still a good book even though it's just a bunch of dead trees with scribbles on it. That's what love is. It's just a chemical and it's still wonderful and amazing to experience.

I'm just really confused and very curious as to what it was about my response that made you think about love versus infatuation and the need to look for infatuation.

No, you're speaking as if everyone is on the same page about what love is and what exactly constitutes it, which couldn't be further from the truth. different people will have completely different conceptualizations of what love is and even what it feels like.

No, but if you are a dysfunctional person who is attracted to dysfunctional people, and therefore throw yourself into dysfunctional relationships, Then yeah, that level probably hurt.
