He's in private school. Should I just home school him? I don't know what to do, but I believe in gentle parenting, but I need I need it's been an ongoing thing He always says this to me always says this kind of stuff He never comes down for dinner anymore and all he cares about is that darn game and I don't know what to do anymore I just I just can't take it. I can't take it It's gonna kill me, but I love Billy with all my heart and it's sad seeing him like this I hope that he's not on drugs like his uncle His uncle drew was on drugs and I just don't want him to end up like him I'm sorry y'all, but it's just really hard. I've actually seen this video on USA Crimes where the mom just picked up her kid and body slammed him on the concrete. That might work. just try.

I think that gentle parenting is okay to an extent but you know what there's a lot of people who are just straight up afraid to be parents and they call that gentle parenting and that's kind of what this situation is sounding like to me to I'm gonna be honest.

Is his father in his life because there's a problem when he feels like he can talk to his father's wife like this with no consequences? What is are you married? What's his what's your husband doing about this because this is not okay? This is not a good example for him to be setting.

I don't know of your situation but it's sounding to me like you might be having a little bit of trouble stepping into authority as a parent so I would recommend parenting by the book by John Rosemond or really any of his books. I think that approach would really help with the mindset here.

Otherwise, I tend to recommend positive discipline as opposed to gentle parenting because you see this way too much. With gentle parenting, it's far too often permissive parenting and these people don't really know how to discipline their kids. they're too afraid to.

So for that I recommend Amy Creedies if I have to yell at you one more time book for a bunch of of steps to put you in the right direction. It's a very practical approach.

Now I don't agree with the base philosophy per se and I think it's best to be grounded in John Roseman's types of views but then you also have Amy Creedie's positive discipline type of stuff on top for lesser things.
